In September, inflation in France broke a ten-year record due to rising energy prices.

According to INSEE, the consumer price index fell 0.2 percent from August, while inflation stood at 2.7 percent in September, up from 2.4 percent in August. The September figure was the highest since December 2011, but was below the 2.8 percent average forecast.
