USD rises in price against most currencies

06.12.2021

The US dollar strengthened against most of its major currencies during Monday’s trading.

In November, the number of jobs in the country increased by 210 thousand, according to revised data, in October, as previously reported, the figure increased not by 546 thousand, but by 531 thousand.

Unemployment in the country fell to 4.2% in November, the lowest since February 2020, down from 4.6% in October, the Energy Ministry said. Experts on average expected an increase in the number of jobs in November by 550 thousand and a decrease in unemployment to 4.5%.

Weaker-than-expected labor market data, however, is unlikely to stop the Federal Reserve System (FRS) from accelerating the pace of the withdrawal of stimulus measures, given the high inflation in the United States, experts say.

The focus of traders this week is the November data on the dynamics of consumer prices, which will be released on December 10. Experts, according to Trading Economics, expect inflation in the United States to accelerate to 6.7% from 6.2% in October, which is already the highest in 30 years.
