Oil prices are preparing to rise

24.05.2021

Goldman Sachs has predicted Brent crude prices to soar to $80 a barrel in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to experts, this will be facilitated by the recovery of the global economy against the background of the availability of vaccines against coronavirus. The possible lifting of sanctions against Iran will not substantially affect the quotes, Goldman Sachs said. The republic could return to pre-sanctioned supply levels in a few months (four million barrels per day), according to analysts.

They believe that the market underestimates the coming recovery in demand, and therefore, the return of Iran will not prevent prices from rising to $80 per barrel. The cost of July futures for Brent crude oil increased by 2.04 percent (to $66.44 per barrel) during trading on May 24 on the London ICE exchange.
