Decrease in dollar Libor rates

19.11.2021

A mixed background is being formed today. On the one hand, we can expect an increase in quotations, inasmuch as the growth of dollar-denominated Libor interest rates on the interbank lending market in London stopped, which is negative for the rate of the American currency.

Yesterday commercial banks placed $1.58 trillion of free money in accounts with the Federal Reserve, which had a negative influence on interest rates. The bankers have again formed a substantial surplus of dollars on their balance sheets and during such periods the dollar can demonstrate weakness in the foreign exchange market. On the other hand, the reluctance of the ECB to tackle the problem of high inflation in Europe will have a negative influence on investor sentiment, insofar as the more the monetary regulator prints money, the worse it is for the European currency.

Trading recommendation: flat 1.1315 – 1.1410.
