American billionaire, owner of the NBA basketball club Dallas Mavericks, Cuban called gold a “dead” asset. The businessman published this on Twitter in response to the post of the head of the investment company Euro Pacific Capital, Peter Schiff.

The financier ironically spoke about investors who bought bitcoins and expected their price to increase further. According to him, the exchanges succumbed to mania, because of which the quotes of the most famous cryptocurrency were growing rapidly, but from the part of buyers it was a shortsighted step, which was confirmed when the price fell.

Cuban responded to Schiff’s words with his own publication, in which he criticized gold, traditionally considered a defensive asset during crises. “Remember, gold is a technology-based store of value. From picks and shovels to gold mining, which continues to improve. The one who managed to make the most efficient use of modern technologies for production received the highest award,” the businessman said.
