Weak oil and gas revenues

Russia’s oil and gas revenues collapsed by 2.3 trillion rubles in 2020 (or 30.4 percent).

Their share in total income decreased from 39.3 to 28 percent. According to the calculations of the Accounts Chamber, the price of a barrel of Urals oil averaged $43.3 against $63.9 in 2019.

In 2020, the exchange rate of the national currency showed greater sustainability in oil price volatility than during the crisis of 2014-2016, experts noted. With a decrease in oil prices by 35.2 percent, the weakening of the ruble for the year amounted to 11.1 percent, according to the record.
