Oil may rise in price to $100 soon

03.07.2021

Analysts expect oil prices to continue to rise in the coming months, moreover, Bank of America call the $100 per barrel mark by the summer of 2022. In the first half of 2021, oil has already risen in price by 45 percent, its price is approaching $80 for the first time in more than 2,5 years.

Experts attribute the rise in prices to a combination of factors, including vaccination programs, the gradual easing of restrictions related to the coronavirus, and production cuts agreed in 2020 by OPEC+.

Goldman Sachs expects the price of Brent to reach $80 in the third quarter of this year. JPMorgan is also guided by this mark, but predicts a later date – the last quarter of 2021. This is due to the fact that demand, as expected by leading experts in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Nations, the IEA and the US Department of Energy, in the second half of 2021 will recover even faster than now.
