Scandal with Tesla

31.03.2021

Tesla has mistakenly charged hundreds of buyers twice for a new electric car. Now they are trying to get their money back, but this is still without success.

The auto giant has debited tens of thousands of dollars from bank accounts without permission or warning from customers. The amounts ranged from 37 to 71 thousand dollars. Experts noted that double payments are a common problem in e-commerce and banking.

One of the buyers told the publication that he immediately noticed a mistake (an extra 53 thousand dollars was written off from him), after which he rushed to call and write to the company. But Tesla either did not pick up the phone or could not answer about the refund. As a result, he was advised to contact the bank. Five days later he is still awaiting reimbursement or any written commitment. The man is in financial trouble and cannot pay the mortgage.
