The growth of the Russian economy will be slowed down

Next year Russia’s GDP growth will be around 2.5 percent due to a slowdown in external demand growth and stagnation in domestic demand. This is evidenced by the consensus forecast of experts.

The most positive assessment is given by SberCIB Investment – 3.2 percent. The S&P predicts that in 2021 the Russian economy will grow by only two percent, and inflation will be five percent – this is the most pessimistic forecast. The rest of the inflation estimates are in the range of 4-4.6 percent.

As for the current year, experts estimated the GDP growth at 3.9 percent on average, none of them expects indicators below 3.4 percent. Inflation will be 5.9 percent, and the dollar exchange rate on average for the year will be 72.5 rubles. Next year the exchange rate will rise to 74.5 rubles.
