American statistics on business activity in industry and services again delighted investors. The PMI for the services sector in May reached its highest level in the last 12 years, thanks to the rapid growth of new orders. Consumer demand is skyrocketing and companies are struggling to fulfill orders.

The situation in industry is similar – as the epidemiological situation improves, companies record a rapid increase in demand for their products. Japanese statistics were disappointing – both indicators are still below the 50% mark, which indicates a downturn in business activity. In Japan, the level of vaccination of the population is quite low, which forces the authorities to maintain “lockdowns”.
