Bad forecasts for oil

12.02.2021

OPEC has worsened its forecast for oil demand this year. Experts predicted that demand would slow down by 100,000 barrels per day and drop to 5.8 million barrels.

The reason for revising the forecast was the extension of restrictive measures and the introduction of new lockdowns in some countries, the OPEC said. Earlier on Thursday, February 11, the IEA presented its forecast. They announced that demand would drop to 5.4 million barrels per day, but they expect the increase in demand in the second half of the year.

On Tuesday, February 9, Brent exceeded $61 per barrel, reaching the indicators of January the last year.
