Predictions that the global economy will emerge from the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic in 2021 is not justified. This is how the experts estimated the chances for normalization of the situation.

According to the authors of the report, the factors that negatively affected the global economy in 2020 have not been eliminated yet. A further negative influence will be exerted by different intensities of antiviral measures, the speed of vaccination and the emergence of new dangerous strains of the virus, they predicted.

“Governments will need to adapt their economic policies to the conditions of a longer recession,” the authors concluded. According to them, economic recovery will depend not only on government actions, but also on plans and expectations at the firms level.
