Tesla’s value has collapsed

09.03.2021

Tesla lost a third of its value for the third time in a year. The company’s market capitalization collapsed by nearly $300 billion (to $550 billion).

Tesla shares declined on March 8 for the fifth trading session in a row (to $563), having lost about 21 percent over this period. Securities peaked on January 26, when capitalization rose to nearly $850 billion.

One of the reasons for the drop in recent times is the global shortage of microcircuits, which has affected the supply of automakers. Tesla has temporarily paused production of its most popular model, the Model 3, at its California plant. In general, over the past 12 months, the value of the auto giant’s shares soared more than 4.6 times.
