Lotte Group partners with Polygon to promote NFT globally

27.02.2023

The partnership will begin with the rebranding of BellyGom NFTs, or digital profile picture collections (PFPs) of Lotte Homeshopping, centered on the pink bear character of the same name.

BellyGom NFTs, first released in August 2022 on the Klaytn network, provide owners with benefits associated with Lotte products and services, such as hotel vouchers or discount coupons for shopping.

Polygon and Daehong [now] are technical partners and counterparts who provide marketing support as needed.

The actual operation of the [BellyGom] NFT project will not be done by the Polygon Foundation, but existing NFTs will be transferred to Polygon.

Polygon ranks third among blockchains in NFT sales in the last 30 days, up 260.33% to $36.5 million in that period. Polygon’s platform is compatible with Ethereum, the second-largest blockchain, and allows other blockchain networks to connect and expand.

Polygon has partnered with global brands such as Starbucks, Adidas and Prada.

Lotte Group has more than 121 trillion Korean won ($92.3 billion) in assets, according to the South Korea Fair Trade Commission for April 2022.
