Alexander Bastrykin urges to register the possibility of arrest and confiscation of cryptocurrencies at the legislative level. In particular, he complains that the belonging of digital currencies to property has not yet been enshrined in legislation. This, in his opinion, creates uncertainty during the consideration of criminal cases and complicates confiscation and arrests.

The head of the Investigative Committee also notes that the decentralization of the issuance of cryptocurrencies does not allow the state to fully control this area. For this reason, in case of controversial situations, it is necessary to enable the state to transfer digital money to the “state crypto wallet”.
