Trade reconciliation awaits Europe and America

The US and EU authorities wanted to make peace in the trade war that began during the Trump presidency. They will negotiate the abolition of the first batch of mutual duties on the import of goods.

Steel was the first European commodity whose import tariffs could be canceled in the United States. Washington and Brussels have already announced that they intend to resolve the question by the end of this year.

If that happens, the US will lift 25 percent duties on European steel and 10 percent on EU aluminum. They were introduced in 2018, in response, the European Union turned to the WTO and received the right to impose increased tariffs on American goods with a total annual volume of 6.4 billion euros.
