Europe may be left without Kazakh oil

If the EU introduces a carbon tax, then Kazakhstan will reorient its oil supplies to China and the countries of Southeast Asia. Deputy Minister of Energy of the country Zhumabay Karagaev spoke about this at a briefing.

According to him, at present, the republic’s exports are mostly focused on Europe. But if the threat of additional charges is realized, the region will be left without oil from Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, Karagaev admitted that it is necessary to work on making oil production and transportation more environmentally friendly. Thanks to modern technologies, it is necessary to have the least possible negative influence on the environment.
