The cost of bitcoin has collapsed by more than a thousand dollars after the tweet of the head of Tesla Elon Musk about this cryptocurrency, according to the trading data.

As of 11:19 Moscow time, bitcoin fell in price by 5.4 percent (to 36.63 thousand dollars). Previously, Musk made a post mentioning this cryptocurrency and broken heart emoji. He also added a picture with a breakup joke and a quote from Linkin Park’s song “In the End”: “So in the end it didn’t even matter?”

This is not the first time that the value of bitcoin has dropped because of Musk’s words. In May, the entrepreneur hinted that Tesla was preparing to sell or has already sold its crypto assets, which were valued at $1.5 billion.
