Bitcoin’s struggle to hold onto $20,000 keeps the crypto market on edge

20.06.2022

The largest cryptocurrency fell 4.8% on Monday and was trading at $19,914 as of 7:32 am in London. Ether lost 7.8% at one point but held above $1,000.

Bitcoin fell nearly 15% on Saturday before rising above $20,000 with a sharp jump of the same magnitude on Sunday. The nature of the fluctuations indicates that investor sentiment remains highly volatile as the Federal Reserve and other central banks do their best to fight inflation by raising interest rates, which drains liquidity in the markets.
