Binance Web3 wallet launches bitcoin inscription marketplace

02.02.2024

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the launch of an in-app tokenization marketplace, providing users with a comprehensive platform for tokenization and trading, including Bitcoin BRC-20 tokens such as ORDI.

The announcement reads as follows: “Inscriptions Marketplace is designed with accessibility and convenience in mind. It caters to everyone from BRC-20 enthusiasts to Web3 newbies, providing a secure and enjoyable experience.” The arrival of Inscriptions Marketplace is a welcome development for Binance Web3 Wallet, which enhances the user experience on the decentralized network with a multitude of features.”

Binance Inscriptions Marketplace offers a user-friendly interface within the Binance Web3 Wallet, allowing users to easily inscribe and exchange inscriptions including BRC-20 tokens and Ethereum Virtual Machine tokens.

BRC-20 is an innovative token standard for interchangeable tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain. Unlike Ethereum’s ERC-20 tokens, which use smart contracts, BRC-20 tokens use leverage Ordinals inscriptions, a protocol that allows data to be recorded on individual satoshis, the smallest denomination of Bitcoin.

BRC-20 tokens are gaining momentum, and Binance has joined other platforms like OKX in supporting the new token standard. ORDI, the most expensive BRC-20 token by market value, ranks 57th despite having pulled back from a high of $87. It is currently trading at $57.97, according to CoinMarketCap data.
