President Putin, performing on the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, spoke about a serious blow that could be inflicted on the dollar.

“If you look at what is happening – and these are not only our assessments, but also other international institutions – the gold and foreign exchange reserves of many countries of the world, including the US allies, in dollars are decreasing,” Putin said.

According to him, the share of settlements in dollars in the world economy has also been declining recently. “Our operators still prefer operations in dollars, although oil is more tied to the dollar, because oil is an exchange commodity. Gas is not an exchange commodity (in fact, gas is sold on Russian and international exchanges),” the head of state said.
