Assets on the Fed’s balance sheet have renewed their historical maximum

The current pound levels are attractive for opening Buy positions. Late the night before, the US Federal Reserve released fresh statistics on changes in assets on the balance sheet. Over the week, the figure grew by $20.1 billion, renewed its historical maximum, which is now $7.83 trillion. For the American currency, this is a negative signal, inasmuch as historically the growth of assets on the balance sheet to a new maximum was accompanied by a weakening of the dollar.

Till which level can the Fed’s balance sheet grow? There is no exact answer to this question, but in the winter the management of the investment company BlackRock, which is one of the Fed’s key partners in the capital market, announced that the Central Bank’s balance sheet could grow to $9 trillion. If the Fed continues to buy assets in the same volume of $120 per month, then the $9 trillion mark will be reached in 10 months.
