Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive: Start moving units around

31.07.2023

Investors are no longer impressed with the margin-protecting price increases at consumer co-op titans like Kimberly-Clark and Colgate-Palmolive. As the room for further price increases is exhausted, they expect they will soon cease to be a driver of overall revenue growth. When Colgate-Palmolive gave a more unspecific sales outlook on the same day, its shares fell 1.9%. Organic sales, a key industry metric that excludes the impact of currency and mergers, were up 8% year-over-year at P&G, 8% year-over-year at Colgate and 5% at Kimberly-Clark, all driven by higher prices.
