Donald Trump’s new NFT collection

13.01.2023

In December, a collection of unplayable Donald Trump tokens sold out in less than 24 hours on OpenSea, the popular NFT trading platform. On Thursday morning, the same OpenSea account that sold the original set of Trump NFT digital trading cards launched a sweepstakes called “Win Trump Prizes.”

The prizes include tickets to a group Zoom call with the former U.S. president. The cheapest NFT ticket for the Zoom call costs 0.03 ETH, or $31, and the most expensive NFT ticket for the Zoom call costs 15 ETH, or about $1,400. The promotion says they can be exchanged for one (1) ticket for a 20-minute Zoom call with President Trump for 2,000 people on a date and time to be determined by the Company. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions before the call begins, but there is no guarantee that the question(s) will be asked or answered.

When Trump’s original collection of NFTs came out in December and sold for $99 apiece, users were told that they would enter a sweepstakes to win prizes, and anyone who bought 45 NFTs out of the 45,000 offered could win a gala dinner with Trump.

Now some who have won prizes are trying to sell them on OpenSea for a high price. Although, according to the latest figures, a 20-minute one-on-one meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago is still selling for 200 ETH, or about $285,000.

According to OpenSea, as of Thursday, the new “Prizes from Trump” collection had 668 holders, and total trading volume was 38 ETH, or about $54,000.

The original collection’s initial popularity plummeted, with trading volume down 99%, according to CryptoSlam. Sales peaked at $3,093,385 on Dec. 19 and dropped to $21,160 on Jan. 12.

Trump won the White House in 2016 but lost to President Joe Biden in 2020. In November, Trump said he planned to run for president in 2024, which would be his third attempt at the Oval Office.
