The winter storm killed at least 32 people across the U.S,

as of Monday morning in Hong Kong.

Core Scientific, a major bitcoin miner that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week, tweeted Saturday that it would “participate in multiple blackouts to help stabilize the power grid,” and that bitcoin mining is expected to slow.

Bitcoin miner Riot Blockchain tweeted Thursday that it was closing its facility “due to extreme weather conditions in Texas.”
