Bloomberg L.P. is not interested in acquiring either Dow Jones or the Washington Post.

“There have been no conversations with either organization about an acquisition,” billionaire owner Michael Bloomberg retweeted.

Bloomberg is interested in acquiring either Wall Street Journal parent company Dow Jones from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp or the Washington Post from Jeff Bezos’ Amazon.com

Michael Bloomberg has for years expressed a desire to own a major newspaper, but has not contacted Murdoch to discuss a possible purchase of Dow Jones and its flagship Journal newspaper.

A spokesman for the Washington Post, which Bezos bought in 2013 for $250 million, said Friday that it was not for sale.

Antitrust experts agreed that a merger of Bloomberg and Dow Jones’ business news divisions would draw the attention of U.S. regulators, especially since the Biden administration has taken a more muscular approach to anti-monopoly compliance.

part of Thomson Reuters Corp, competes with Dow Jones and Bloomberg News, a division of Bloomberg L.P., a provider of financial news.
