At the moment, Tesla shares are quoted premarket at $ 950 per share versus the previous trading day’s closing price of 965.71. The fall was provoked by the chief executive officer of the company, Elon Musk, by placing another batch of Tesla securities.

According to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, he exercised options to buy 2.1 million TSLA shares, -4.98% at $ 6.24 each, then sold 934,091 shares at $ 952 to $ 1002 at total amount of about $ 906.5 million.

Tesla shares are up 36% year-to-date but lost 15% in December.
