Hackers stole $ 80 million from crypto exchange AscendEX

Hackers withdrew $ 80 million from the AscendEX crypto exchange. Funds were stolen from hot wallets Ethereum (ETH), Polygon and Binance Smart Chain (BSC). The company announced this on its Twitter page.

It is known that the bulk of the withdrawn funds falls on hot wallets ETH – $ 60 million. BSC stole $ 9.2 million, and Polygon – $ 8.5 million. Hackers could not get access to cold wallets.

AscendEX crypto exchange is based in Singapore. She has already promised to reimburse customers for the loss. According to the latest information from AscendEX, victims will receive 100% refund.

Crypto exchange Huobi offered to help solve the problem and blacklisted the assets that were used for the hack.
