Zuckerberg’s company Facebook, which owns the eponymous social network and changed its name to Meta, accidentally enriched the owners of another Canadian company with a similar name.

Meta Materials stock, which makes composite materials from metals and plastics, rose by 4.83 percent after Zuckerberg announced changing the name of its holding company from Facebook to Meta. The market capitalization of the Canadian company reached $1.5 billion, and the shares rose by 25 percent at their peak.
