The lira exchange rate has been collapsed at a record after the decision of Turkish President Erdogan to declare ambassadors of ten countries as persona non grata. As a result, at the auction on Monday, October 25, the national currency rate dropped to 9.84 lira per dollar and reached a historical minimum.

Earlier in October, Erdogan declared persona non grata ambassadors from ten countries calling on Turkey to release activist Osman Kavala. We are talking about representatives of diplomatic missions from Germany, Sweden, USA, France, Finland, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Canada and New Zealand.
