The Moscow Exchange index at the opening of the main session of the exchange on Friday, October 8, retained its positions, dropping by 0.01 percent to 4227.73 points. The RTS index lost 0.23 percent (1,849.72 points).

The dollar rose, but it traded below 72 rubles. At 10:05 Moscow time, it was 71.98 rubles (plus 0.29 rubles), the euro exchange rate was 83.1 rubles (plus 0.28 rubles).
