Analyst Marion Laboure said that the use of bitcoin for savings is associated with great risks and identified factors that make the most famous virtual currency dangerous. She spoke about this in an interview published on the bank’s official resource.

According to the expert, there are three reasons for the high volatility of this asset. Firstly, two-thirds of the produced tokens are used as investments or as an object of speculation (earning income from the difference between buy and sell prices). Secondly, due to limited circulation, a few large bitcoin deals can have a big influence on the supply-demand balance. “The maximum number of bitcoins that can be reached is just under 21 million. About 89 percent of the total bitcoin supply is already in circulation,” explains Marion Laboure.
