The People’s Bank of China called all activities related to cryptocurrencies illegal and promised to take tough measures to curb their trade.
The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) said on September 24 that cryptocurrencies should not circulate in the markets on a par with traditional currencies and that foreign exchanges are now prohibited from providing services to mainland investors.

In the answers to questions section on its official website, the NBK indicated that trading services, order matching (matching orders to buy and sell securities on the stock market), issuing tokens and derivatives (future price agreements) for cryptocurrencies are strictly prohibited.
