Second attempt to consolidate at 1.39

15.09.2021

On the eve, the pound tested the level of 1.3900, but could not consolidate at this mark. In my opinion, today there will be a second attempt. Firstly, the US Federal Reserve today will increase the surplus of dollar liquidity in the financial system by $12.4 billion through the purchase of short-term treasury bonds, which will negatively influence the rate of the American currency.

Secondly, I expect BRENT oil quotes to rise to $74.4 per barrel, which will put additional pressure on the dollar, inasmuch as assets have been historically inversely correlated. In the Gulf of Mexico oil workers are still unable to restore oil production after the most powerful hurricane Ida, which is positive for oil prices.

Trading recommendation: Buy 1.3801/1.3780 and take profit 1.3900.
