Americans want reconciliation with China

Influential American business groups have appealed to the US authorities to resume negotiations with China and reduce import tariffs.

In their opinion, tariffs hinder the development of the US economy. In a letter to the country’s trade representative, Katherine Tai, and Treasury Secretary, Yellen, the entrepreneurs say that Beijing has complied with all of its obligations under the trade agreement. For example, China opened up markets for US financial institutions and lowered barriers to agricultural exports from the US to the PRC.

The publication notes that the letter reflects the growing frustration of some American corporations with the pace of revision of trade and economic policies in relation to China. Business calls for making peace with China and lowering tariffs on Chinese goods in general.
