Trade between Russia and China in the first half of 2021 increased sharply by 28.2 percent in annual terms.
In June, the volume of trade between the countries reached $12.2 billion. In the first half of the year, exports to Russia grew by 38.4 percent, reaching $28.9 billion. Imports of Russian goods and services soared by 20.6 percent to $34.1 billion. However, at the end of last year, the volume of trade between the two countries fell in annual terms by 2.9 percent (to $107.7 billion).
In June, Russian President Putin said that he was expecting a record in Russia’s trade with China. The volumes are constantly increasing. Since 2001, the mutual trade turnover has increased 14 times.
