New oil price record

24.06.2021

The price of Brent crude at the auction on June 23 reached $76 per barrel for the first time since October 2018. At the time of writing, the August futures price was $75.68 per barrel, according to trade data.

The rise in price has become another record in recent days: on June 22, the price of Brent rose above $73 per barrel for the first time since May 2019. Prices for WTI grade were also growing on June 23, by the time the news was prepared, they were $73.71 per barrel, and during the day they reached $74.21.

The heads of the world’s largest oil companies have already seen the reasons why oil prices can return to the level of $100 per barrel – this, among other things, may be caused by an imbalance between supply and demand against the background of the economic recovery.
