Against the background of the start of the meeting between US and Russian Presidents Biden and Putin, the ruble exchange rate rose by three kopecks, after which it dropped by seven kopecks, according to trade data.

Since the beginning of the day, the ruble has been strengthened by a third of a percent against the dollar and the euro. The previous evening it reached a minimum since the beginning of the week, after which it turned into growth – the dollar dropped to 71.87 rubles.

The Russian currency has been strengthening the whole June after the confirmation of the meeting between Putin and Biden. Market participants positively assessed the suspension of the imposition of sanctions, expecting that the parties will be able to agree.
