The head of the Central Bank’s department for counteracting unfair practices warned Russians about the boom in financial pyramids.

According to him, in the first quarter of 2021, 124 illegal forex dealers and 85 financial pyramids were identified in Russia, which indicates an increase in their number almost twice in a year. Meanwhile, 45 percent of fraudsters began to carry out their activities online.

In the meantime, Lyakh said that the Central Bank is actively reducing the time it takes to identify illegal activities and refer cases to the appropriate authorities.
