The authorities of Singapore, often called the “country of the future”, said that the moment of truth has come for the Asian state that can determine what its economy will be in the next few years, during which the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic will be felt.

The reason for such statements was the new restrictions introduced against the background of the increased incidence of morbidity. Particularly, they imply a prohibition on entry for many categories of people, including foreign workers.

Meanwhile, some sectors of the Singaporean economy face a severe shortage of labor and cannot fill it in the current conditions. Construction, manufacturing and shipping are among them.
