Positive outlook of Bank of England

Bank of England executives with one voice voted to keep the discount rate at 0.1%. Most participants agree that it is advisable to increase the rate in the second quarter of 2023, when inflation approaches the target of the monetary regulator.

The forecast for UK GDP growth for this year has been raised from 5% to 7.25%, inasmuch as the rapid vaccination of the population has a positive influence on British business. The global economy is recovering faster than initially expected, which will boost demand for risky assets with which the British pound has been historically correlated.
