Today is an interesting day for the pound. Firstly, the Bank of England will announce conclusions of its monetary policy meeting. Secondly, parliamentary elections will be held in Scotland. With regard to the first event, I am waiting for positive comments from the leadership of the Central Bank, inasmuch as the rapid vaccination of the population will have a positive influence on the recovery of the British economy after the “coronacrisis”.

On the second event, unpleasant surprises for the pound were previously expected due to the victory of the Scottish nationalists, but a few days ago British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made it clear to his opponents that there would be no referendum in Scotland – the British parliament would not let this project pass. It is time for the pound to test 1.4000 and today there are excellent opportunities for this.
