People living in poor countries are at risk of food shortages due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, according to the warning of the UN.

Almost all over the world, food has become more expensive, and in some countries it has become completely inaccessible to people. This year, the situation looks more complicated than last one, said Agnes Kalibata, UN Special Envoy for the 2021 Food Systems Summit. She added that a lot of them were out of food and savings.

According to Kalibat’s forecasts, the fight against COVID-19 and its economic implications could take at least five years. She also noted that it is important to keep prices low and keep the products available to people.
