In December 2020, Russia increased its investments in the American national debt again, bringing their volume to $6.011 billion, according to information from the American Treasury Department.

From this amount, 1.2 billion falls on long-term bonds, and $4.8 billion – on short-term bonds. Therefore, after a sharp sale of securities in November, Russia almost returned to the October level of investments.

The total volume of investments in the US national debt of all countries and international organizations is 7.021 trillion dollars. Japan remains the largest holder with 1.251 trillion, followed by China (excluding Hong Kong) with 1.072 trillion. In Europe, the UK remains the leader – $440 billion.
