According to trade data, cryptocurrency Ethereum, which is considered as the main competitor to Bitcoin, has risen in price at a record.

At the time of publication, the cost of one Ethereum unit was $1407.3. Growth, which was compared to the closing level of the previous session, amounted to $172.9, or 14 percent.

At its peak, the cost reached $1,440. Thus, the price broke the previous all-time high, which was established in January 2018 at $1,428.

Moreover, the volume of transactions with Ethereum exceeded that of Bitcoin by reaching $12 billion, excluding transactions on decentralized exchanges.
